Yoga & Pilates

Yoga & Pilates is a dynamic and balanced fusion practice that seamlessly integrates the best elements of both disciplines. This unique combination provides a comprehensive approach to physical fitness, focusing on strength, flexibility, core stability, and mindful movement. This group class is all about restoring good foundational physical function.

 

Benefits include: improved core strength and stability, enhanced flexibility and increased ROM (Range Of Motion) and control within that range, enhanced mind-body connection and awareness, improved posture and alignment, increased muscle tone and strength, stress reduction and relaxation, improved coordination and balance and injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Pilates

Pilates is a dynamic, focussed, strengthening practice rooted in the principles of Classical Pilates (Controlology) by Joseph Pilates. This precise practice is a perfect starting point for retraining faulty movement patterns whether gained from injury or long-term habit, and provides an integrated mind-body experience. This is done by fostering  a deep connection between the breath, mindful movement (starting at the smaller scale), awareness of posture, and finding continuity and rhythm in the retrained movement.

 

Benefits include: improved core strength and stability, enhanced flexibility and increased ROM (Range Of Motion) and control within that range, enhanced mind-body connection and awareness, improved posture and alignment, increased muscle tone and strength, improved coordination and balance and injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Hatha Yoga

Hatha Yoga is a foundational and static style of practice that emphasizes the integration of breath, alignment, and mindful movement. Rooted in traditional yogic philosophy, Hatha Yoga provides a balanced and holistic approach to physical and mental well-being. All Hatha classes end with a rest in Savasana, Makarasana or Viparita Karani for at least five minutes.

Benefits include: improved physical alignment and posture, enhanced strength and flexibility, stress reduction and relaxation, rebalanced energy flow, enhanced mind-body connection, improved respiratory function, increased mental clarity and focus, and enhanced emotional balance and wellbeing.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic and invigorating practice that synchronizes breath with movement, creating a seamless flow of postures. Rooted in the ancient traditions of Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa offers a dynamic and transformative experience for practitioners of all levels. This class is fast-paced (compared to the other classes) so it is recommended that you have been a regular Hatha Yoga Practitioner for a year or more prior to attending. All Vinyasa classes end with a rest in Savasana, Makarasana or Viparita Karani for at least five minutes.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow-paced, restful style where the postures are primarily on the floor and held for longer periods, with supports, to induce a state of rest, release, and relaxation. This practice invites you to slow down, go deeper, and explore the profound benefits of passive stretching and mindfulness. Rooted in ancient Chinese Taoist traditions and complementing more dynamic forms of yoga, Yin Yoga targets the body's connective tissues, offering a unique and deeply transformative experience.

Benefits include: deep tissue stretching and flexibility, stress reduction and relaxation, improved circulation and joint health, enhanced mindfulness and meditation, emotional release and healing, rebalances the flow of energy, stimulates organ functionality, and increases mind-body awareness.

Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a transformative practice designed to guide you into a state of profound relaxation and inner healing. Derived from ancient yogic traditions, Yoga Nidra, often referred to as "Yogic sleep," is a guided meditation technique (in a comfortable reclined position) allowing you to effortlessly enter a state of profound rest that induces a state of deep rest while maintaining full awareness. No prerequisites for movement are required for this class.

Benefits include: anxiety and stress relief, counteracts fatigue, improved quality of sleep, improves concentration and mental clarity, and allows for personal growth and healing.
